First Time Renting a Villa in Italy? Follow These Tips

In our Special Report: Villa Rentals II, villa rental expert Pauline Kenny details six tips for first- time renters.

Here’s her #1 tip:

Don’t go “off the beaten path” for your first trip. Stay somewhere central, like the Chianti region in Tuscany, the area around Montepulciano and Pienza in Tuscany, central Umbria or the Amalfi Coast. There will be more services — shops, restaurants, entertainment — and since these are tourist areas, more people are likely to speak English.
