Venice: Burano Regatta

In this, the last Venetian regatta of the season, two-oared gondole for men and mascarete for women compete in races which wind around the island of Burano, starting at the northern end of the nearby island of Sant’Erasmo. Revenge may be sweet for some in this final regatta, which is also known as the Rivincita della Storica, as the losers of the Regata Storica earlier in the year have a final chance to vindicate themselves. And a word to the wise — try to grab a spot on the ferry point on Burano: the race is best seen from this spot. Please check the event website for updated dates.
