You read that right. It’s a clam festival located in the province of Le Marche to celebrate the history of this sea creature in the Falconara cuisine. The harvesting of clams has long been a part of tradition in this coastal town as well as a form of sustenance for fisherman’s families. This event celebrates this history and invites others to enjoy the typical and traditional dishes containing clams as a key ingredient. Enjoy a plate of spaghetti alle vongole, mezze maniche allo scoglio, guazzetto di vongole, or frittura di pesce and more! Performances include live bands, the Iride Theater Company and orchestra ensembles. The handicraft market, play area for kids, dance floor, and self-service tables scattered through the woods make this event friendly for all ages.
