Day 1: Goldsmith and jeweler Alessandro Dari’s family has been making jewelry in Florence since 1630. Dari puts and elaborate and nontraditional spin on the craft. Rings are his specialty and each has a spiritual significance or a connection to a myth or legend. They are topped with intricately sculpted interpretations of concepts such as space and time, or with objects such as musical instruments or the Florence’s iconic building, Palazzo Vecchio, which spins. Even if you’re not in the market to buy anything, stop in to see Alessandro Dari at his studio in the San Niccolò neighborhood at Via San Niccolò, 115/r.
