Day 23: Bread – pane – is a staple in Italian life. Tour guide Francesco Foschino takes Kathy around Matera with a stop at a beloved bakery Pane e Pace whose ovens were once used by the entire community. Each family used a wooden stamp to indicated which loaves were theirs.
