In the Castelvetere sul Calore episode of the second season of Dream of Italy on PBS, Kathy is introduced to her closest living relative in Italy.
Built in 1714, Castelvetere’s cemetery is one of the oldest in Italy, built before laws required bodies be interred outside towns in order to stop the spread of disease. Because of limited space in modern times, Italian law now requires that remains be exhumed after a number of years and placed in a family ossuary above ground. So there aren’t many specific names and dates for family research but in the show this is where Gaetano introduced Kathy and her mom to her closest living relative in Castelvetere, Rosa Maria Sullo.
