From The TV Show: Caprai in Umbria

In the Umbria episode of the first season of Dream of Italy on PBS, Kathy visits a vineyard famous for the Sagrantino grape.

In the area surrounding Montefalco, the indigenous grape Sagrantino has experienced a rebirth in the last two decades, thanks mostly to Marco Caprai and his family winery Arnaldo Caprai. Caprai has made this historic grape famous the world over and if there is anywhere to taste it, it is right here. The winery is open daily for tastings between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 and 7 p.m. Tours are available daily but must be reserved in advance. The cost for a tour/tasting is 10€ per person.
