Italy Art Project: Re-Use Your Wine Corks as Place Card Holders

When I was visiting the Schola Sarmenti vineyard in Puglia this week for a wine tasting, I couldn’t help but notice the way they re-used their wine corks and turned them into name holders. Plus I love how they used “Buon Appetito” instead of a name. Thought this might be a fun idea for our readers to use for their holiday tables this year!

You need to cut off – a good knife should do it – the bottom one side of the cork so it can lay flat on the table.

Then, slice an opening about 1/3rd of the way down at about the 2 o’clock spot on the top of the circle – that’s where you can slip in a small card.
