When I was visiting the Schola Sarmenti vineyard in Puglia this week for a wine tasting, I couldn’t help but notice the way they reused their wine corks and turned them into name holders. Plus I love how they used “Buon Appetito” instead of a name. I thought this might be a fun idea for our readers to use for their holiday tables this year!
You need to cut off — a good knife should do it — the bottom one side of the cork so it can lay flat on the table.
Then, slice an opening about one-third of the way down at about the 2 o’clock spot on the top of the circle — that’s where you can slip in a small card.
