Sicilian Temples Lit Up
Through September 15, 2013, the stupendous Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily will be open until 11 p.m. nightly. Conchita Vecchio, who is on our list of Italy’s best tour guides, says “Take advantage of this rare opportunity to see the temples up close and lit up while avoiding the scorching daytime heat!”
Vatican Museums with Music
A number of the Vatican Museums in Vatican City are staying open late on Friday nights through October 25th (with the exception of Fridays in August) and featuring classical music performances. The last entry is 9:30 p.m.
Drinks with David in Florence
A number of museums in Florence are extending their hours one night a week and offering up cocktails as as part of the Aperitivi ad Arte initiative. Thursday nights at the Uffizi, you can enjoy drinks on a terrace overlooking the Piazza del Signoria. Wednesdays, the Accademia (home to the David) and Bargello Museum are open late.
