Why it made our list: Great personal experiences. Family run business with everyone actively involved in the daily operation by visiting properties, talking with owners and helping clients. Their office is close to where they have most of their villa rentals.

Four apartments and a two-bedroom villa on a countryside estate outside of Montepulciano. The owners host a weekly dinner for their guests: you get to meet the other visitors and have a good home-cooked meal.
Why it made our list: Very involved owners in a popular location.
