You can finally get the chance by taking a trip over to the San Martino della Vaneza Castle in Padua (also known as Padova). Every June the town gathers for the Palio dello Sparviero. A renaissance fair that begins on the 14th with dinner in a tavern enjoying copious amounts of meat and an abundance of wine. During the 3 day festival\, the castle’s garden is used as space for performers\, jesters\, ancient crafts booths\, and a parade all leading up to the reenactment of the war between Padua and Venice before the town came under venetian rule. \nDream of Italy is a membership website and award-winning travel publication publishing 170 issues since 2002. SUMMARY:Umbria: Infiorate di Spello
DESCRIPTION:For one weekend\, the streets of the town of Spello in Umbria are covered in huge carpets with intricate designs made out of only flowers and other organic elements. The floral tapestries\, intended to honor the passage of the Body of Christ\, wind through the streets of the old center of the village and brighten the city and attract thousands of visitors who come from all over to stroll along the flower-covered streets. The region’s bishop leads a procession on Sunday morning\, making his way down a 1.5km path covered with more than 60 types of flowers. Other flower-related exhibitions include floral embroidery\, a nursery\, and a museum. \nDream of Italy is a membership website and award-winning travel publication publishing 170 issues since 2002.
